What is an European Commissioner? Who is the head of the European Commission? The European Commission (officially called the Commission of the European Communities ) is one of the seven organisations that manage the European Union ( EU ). The Commission manages the day-to-day running of the EU and writes laws, like a government. Laws written by the Commission are discussed and changed by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. Pages in this category should be moved to subcategories where applicable.

It aims to ensure that the European Commission leads the implementation process of the building block with the advice of the Member States and to ensure that the private sector, user organisations and standardisation bodies play a role.
