Sorority costs

Finally, there are plenty of incidental costs of sorority life. Costs related to clothing with your sorority’s Greek letters, dresses for parties, costs related to charity and service work, and payments for social committees and parties. So how much do sororities cost? Here are some ways sorority costs can pay off.


A sorority house can be cheaper than the dorms.

Housing costs vary by chapter, but the price of living in a sorority house is often much less than. The live-in costs are a compilation of all costs incurred by a member living in the chapter house such as room, boar and other mandatory fees. When a member lives outside the house, they are required to pay a live-out fee. Live-out costs include such things as maintenance fees, social dues, and occasional meals.


Any meal swipes used prior to the downgrade will be subtracted from the original swipes. Joining a fraternity or sorority is a great way to save money, discover additional scholarship opportunities and move into an off-campus home sooner than typically allowed. While membership fees and housing costs differ from chapter to chapter, all are affordable and comparable to other residence hall and rental options in the community.


Figuring 2-thousand for dues and 6-thousand for room and board (housing and meals) - which is the same as some dorms and less than others.

If you have any questions concerning the cost of belonging to a sorority , please feel free to ask the members during recruitment. It is giving your time and energy to the chapter, agreeing to abide by all the rules and regulations, and living up to high expectations. Please plan on arriving on campus and being moved into your residence hall before 2:00PM. Sorority membership is more than wearing Greek letters. There will be a mandatory recruitment meeting with your Recruitment Counselor (Rho Gamma).


Like any opportunity for involvement in college, there is a financial commitment associated with joining a fraternity or sorority. The costs go toward council and national fees, chapter operating expenses and social functions. Be aware that additional costs may be incurred throughout the semester for gifts, pictures, t-shirts, etc.


House Corp Charges: Dues paid to the chapter house corporation to cover costs associated with staff salaries and house upkeep. From collaborating on class projects to dancing the night away, living in a fraternity or sorority house is truly a home away from home. Fraternity and sorority housing is a viable option, as approximately percent of incoming freshmen are housed in the Greek community annually. The cost to participate in formal Panhellenic sorority Recruitment is $40. August 1st after which the cost will increase to $50.


This cost includes snacks, shuttle transportation, and a parking pass for all four days. The fees vary depending on the sorority and the chapter, but they can cost upwards of $0per semester. For joining a fraternity at UCF, the cost for a new member ranges from $3at Theta Chi to $8at Kappa Sigma per. The costs of living in a fraternity or sorority differ from chapter to chapter. On average, living in a chapter house is less expensive than living on campus in a double or triple room. Below is an average breakdown for fraternity and sorority costs.


If I join a fraternity or sorority , can I join any other clubs? In fact, many chapters expect members to be involved in at least one organization outside of the fraternity or sorority. Each year prior to primary recruitment, the Panhellenic Association creates a quick guide for member finances. The quick guide lists projected costs for the upcoming academic year. Because the costs listed are only projected costs , it is the responsibility of each member to know their financial.


Dues for women abroad vary, as well. We encourage students to ask questions about membership costs before joining an organization in order to fully understand the financial expectations of membership. It was at Preview that the sticker shock of sorority life at a competitive Greek Campus set in. Each sorority had a pamphlet that outlined the costs per semester to pledge and ultimately become a member of those sorority.


This is a brief synopsis of those costs …. National New Member Expense $240. Chapter New Member Expenses $575.
