Information about black holes

What are some rare known facts about black holes? Why are black holes and worm holes important? Calculations suggest that physical information could permanently disappear in a black hole , allowing many physical states to devolve into the same state. Supermassive black holes exist in the hearts of galaxies and usually contain the mass equivalent of millions of suns. Cygnus X-1: a stellar-mass black hole and x-ray source that lies some 5light-years away.


It is a binary system that contains a blue supergiant variable star and the x-ray source thought to be the black hole.

The force of gravity is so high in Black Holes that it leads to gravitational time dilation. This is a phenomenon where time slows down because of gravitational pull. Scientists believe that the smallest black hole is around the size of a single atom and yet has the mass of a huge mountain.


These are called “primordial black holes. A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light cannot get out. The theory of general relativity predicts that a sufficiently compact mass can deform spacetime to form a black hole. They form when a massive dying star, or supernova, explodes and the remaining core collapses from the weight of its own gravity. They are formed by the gravitational collapse of a large star.


When a large star runs out of fuel it may collapse into a black hole.

All black holes start out small. Cygnus X-is the first black hole discovered and accepted by astronomers. Our Sun is not big enough to create a black hole when it collapses.


We know that our Sun will eventually run out of energy but the good news is that black hole facts tell us that it will most likely not turn into a black hole. The black hole is always associated with space-time and quantum physics. If the star has enough mass, it will collapse on itself down to a very small size. Due to its small size and enormous mass, the gravity will be so strong it will absorb light and become a black hole. According to the general theory of relativity, it is the result of the curving of spacetime caused by a very dense mass.


Around a black hole there is a position of no return, called the event horizon. Such a star may become a white dwarf or a neutron star, but if the star is sufficiently massive then it may continue shrinking eventually to the size of a tiny atom, known as a gravitational singularity. In fact, the gravitational force of a black hole is so strong that nothing can escape once it has gone inside.


Not even light can escape a black hole, it is trapped inside along with stars, gas, and dust. They devour things and regularly spit them out. A person falling into a black hole would be spagettified.


With a black hole nearby, even objects as big as a star move in a different way, usually faster than they would if the black hole was not there. Since we cannot see black holes , they must be detected by other means.

When a black hole passes between us and a source of light, the light bends around the black hole creating a mirror image. Light cannot even escape a black hole. The reason it is called a “black” hole is because it sucks up all the light that hits its border and reflects nothing.


Stuff falls into black holes, along with their information. From the point of view of an external observer (i.e., us watching safely from a distance), nothing ever falls into a black hole — it just. It all goes into the teeniest possible.
